An aircraft battery may be small relative to the rest of the aircraft, but its role is fundamental. From engine start and emergency power backup to avionics protection during ground operations, a properly maintained battery is non-negotiable for airworthiness. At Aircraft & Component MRO, our certified Battery Repair Station offers a complete range of maintenance services for NiCad and Lead-Acid aircraft batteries, performed by trained technicians using calibrated, approved test equipment.

Services we provide

Periodic maintenance

Scheduled battery maintenance in accordance with the approved CMM and aircraft maintenance programme, including cell inspection, electrolyte level check, cell balancing, and terminal cleaning.

Capacity testing

Discharge/charge cycle testing to verify actual capacity against the manufacturer's minimum serviceable standard. We use calibrated test equipment and document all results with full traceability.

Deep charging and conditioning

Controlled deep-cycle charging and cell conditioning to recover battery performance and extend service life — particularly beneficial for NiCad batteries showing capacity fade.

Overhaul

Full battery overhaul in accordance with CMM requirements, including individual cell replacement, case inspection, hardware renewal, and functional verification prior to release.

All batteries are released with EASA Form 1 certification. Dual Release documentation is available on request for operators requiring FAA or other authority recognition.
